"And today was a good day"
Something Corporate
For you thespians out there, you might be able to guess what this is about. For the rest of you, here's the gist of things:
I am presently in a play at my school called The Real Inspector Hound. Its a funny, short British play about two critics who go to see a murder mystery play and get swooped up in it as the play they are watching progresses.
I play Inspector Hound... but am I the real one...?
At any rate, tonight was opening night. I don't have the largest role in the play, and I don't usually get nervous about performing, but I felt soooooo nervous tonight. I felt like I was going to throw up before I went onstage. In any case, I was shaking so hard up on stage, it seemed like everyone would notice. After I got off, I felt good, but I didn't know what to think...
So, I get off the stage, and watch the end of the show. The character Magnus closes the show strong, and as we all gather, everyone starts to tell me how I carried the play. I'm like, "What!? No way! I wasn't that good!" Nevertheless, it was such a good feeling to hear this from everyone. I almost NEVER hear good stuff from everyone! SO amazing!
Anyways, we're putting on the show tomorrow night as well, and on Saturday, we head off to another high school to compete in the state drama competition! Hope we move on to semi-finals again this year. Also, I might be able to get an acting award this year!
Well, good night for now. I got a huge history test first period tomorrow.
Peace, Love, and Granola
-Andrew
